Terms of Service

Welcome to MATWORK. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service.

The Service

MATWORK is a personal training log for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, judo, karate, taekwondo, MMA and other martial arts. The app lets you record sessions, track progress, receive AI-generated training recaps, and, through Matwork Match, find and schedule sessions with training partners. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to notify us of any unauthorized access. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app or its backend.
• Use the app to harass, harm, or impersonate others.
• Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise the service.
• Abuse AI features (e.g., automated or excessive recap requests).

Matwork Match

You must be at least 18 years old to use Matwork Match. When you use Match you agree to:

• Provide accurate information in your Match profile, including your age, and use only photos of yourself.
• Respect other users' preferences, intensity limits and decisions to decline, cancel, unmatch or block.
• Not use Match for dating, solicitation, commercial promotion, or to harass, threaten or deceive anyone.
• Report users who break these rules using the in-app report option.

We do not run background checks or verify the identity, skill or conduct of Match users. You are solely responsible for your interactions and any training with other users. Meet in a public gym or other safe setting, agree on intensity before you train, and stop if anything feels unsafe. We may remove profiles and suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the training data you enter. By using the app you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit that data as needed to operate the service (including sending summaries to the Claude API to generate recaps when you request them).

AI-Generated Content

The weekly recap feature uses large language models to generate coaching commentary. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. It is provided for motivational and reflective purposes only and does not constitute professional coaching, medical, or training advice.

Third-Party Services

The app integrates with third-party services including Supabase (data storage), Anthropic (AI), Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, Apple Health, and Health Connect. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

MATWORK is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties about the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Training risk: Martial arts are physical contact sports. MATWORK is a logging tool, not a coach. You are solely responsible for your training decisions and physical safety.

Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms occasionally. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
